Sweet Vintage Garden Wedding

Isn’t the Spring the most perfect time of the year to get married? Shelby and Jordan thought so, they wanted a classic vintage garden wedding with light blues, lavenders and pinks. The reception location was in a gorgeous backyard that had hundreds of flowers and tulips all in bloom. There was a fountain that ran from the top of the garden all the way down to the bottom that ended into a rock waterfall. We placed fresh moss along the rock beds which gave the rocks a fresh look. My favorite new thing is the hanging fresh wreath chandeliers. We had them hanging over the entrance and the buffet. I also wanted to bring in light flowy curtain panels for the pergola where the buffet was served and the wedding cake on display. There was a slight breeze that created movement with the panels.

We choose to go with neutral ivory linens and table cloths with lace runners because it offers a soft balance with the pastels of the flowers. The flowers are my “love” when it comes to weddings. Luckily this time of year there are blossom trees all around us so we used many different blossom branches to add height to our arrangements. Of course my on-site florist Miriam came through again and arranged some beautiful vases.
I absolutly loved working and styling this wedding for the couple. I have always had a thing for Secret Garden weddings. xo

Tip: When you use these drink spouts they seem to always drip! I like to place a tray or small plate underheath with some moss and the problem is fixed.

Weddings are all about the details… my favorite detail from this wedding is this feather pen. The ivory plume is from the bride’s parents wedding day years ago which was saved and made a cameo a second time.

P.S.
Behind the scene photo: I’m so sad that I only took ONE behind the scence photo of my assisant Miriam and I doing the flowers I guess it’s really easy to get busy when you do something like this! At least it’s a cute one of her. I’m so happy that I got chance to run around for five minutes and take the photos above!

Where to use Chanel No.5 Pop Art!

The style of art that I always find myself using personally in my home is Abstract and Pop Art. Today I’m sharing with you Chanel No.5 Pop Art and where to find it. I have always loved the Pop art style, it creates an unusual and colorful space. The style is a little rebellious against the conservative norms and is meant to be bold and flashy.

Look how these Chanel No.5 Art adds a lil’ bit of quark and personality that we all want and love.

Chanel No.5 Art can be a bit pricey at least a couple hundred per print! But I do what I do best and found it at an affordable reachable price for you all on ebay for $14.99 Click HERE

Have you ever looked up Coco Chanel’s history it’s pretty interesting. She was really inspiring as a business women and the things that she accomplished in her career!

In case you missed it, I blogged about some Pop Art that I used in Our Coral Bedroom HERE!

Valentine’s Day Happened!

I really loved Valentine’s Day this year! We didn’t do anything to out of the norm.  All day I had a little Valentine party spirit fun with the children. Looking back I think we tried saying the word “Valentine” as much as possible. I even made up a Valentine’s Day song! I know pretty annoying…
The night before I grabbed these pink tulips from the grocery store because they were calling my name and felt like Spring to me.  (don’t worry Ben did good and gave me flowers as well)

Things were just simple this year… I like to put up some Valentine things, mainly for the children! I found this pink felt Love sign and some white tassel garlands. I was really in the mood for gold heart confetti and I finally found some at Zurchers!

My mother came over in the day and I was telling her in a joking way how everyone has gotten Valentines and I haven’t gotten any yet! Payton the sweetest and most thoughtful boy who was listening came over to me and said “Mom here is a Valentine for you!” He really has the most tender personality, he is always doing things like this!

Alliya and I surprised everyone with sugar cookies and cupcakes from our favorite Sweet Tooth Fairy cupcake shop!

These were the little Valentine’s that Alliya gave out! She made the tags with watercolor paper that she painted! One of our favorite ways of doing things lately. So we had a simple Valentine’s Day but it was good one. I hope everyone had an amazing Valentine’s Day and it was full of love!

KWD Top 7 White Paints

My plans before Spring hits is to what I call “white out my house.” The gray walls are looking to gray for me lately and I’m feeling this need for white, light and clean! The children’s rooms are going from pink and blue to pure white with Indian block print cotton curtains! Today I have rounded up the tried and true Benjamin Moore Paint colors for you.

I have seen many white interiors over the past few years and I am sure you have seen them too. I think I really feel in love with the “white out look” when I saw Martha Stewarts daughter Alexis’s home a few months ago. I love the miniamists mid century look and I love how she has two small children living there. I am a huge believer in children living around white things. Just make sure you get furniture that is easy to clean. HERE is her home tour and you can read more!

Here are a few Benjamin Moore Favorites:

Swiss Coffee is the color I’m using, it’s a very soft bright white!

Project Dollhouse

For the past few weeks Alliya and I have been working away on this giant dollhouse that my mother found for her! As you can see it needs a lot of work and paint. We have been having the best time planning and styling this dollhouse for her. I have stood back a bit and let her choose the colors of the walls, wallpaper and the flooring even the furniture. I don’t think I have seen a doll house look so trendy. So this is the ugly “Before”, when it is finished I will love to give you a little tour of Alliya’s dollhouse. Currently it is all painted white on the inside and out. I am right now on the hunt for a chesterfield dollhouse sofa. Yes, there are places that sell that kind of thing!

It really needed a bit of love, I have never been intimidated by a little paint… here’s the ugly of it!

Here are some furniture that we are thinking about:
(all found on Ebay)

I wish I had something like this when I was her age! Did you!? (I will say after looking at the pictures I was surprised as well to see that I put that thing on my counter, don’t judge!)

* So I have been so busy getting things together and ready for our “Big Secret Announcement!” I am really excited to share it and get it out there. Hint: it has something to do with my boutique that I owned called “Trendy Tots Couture” here in Utah plus a few other New things!!
