Audrey Hepburn as a Mother…

A long time ago I was searching for the usual iconic Audrey Hepburn pictures. When I came across these precious ones. We all know Audrey from her signature sense of style and iconic career, but did many of you know she was a mother as well.

Audrey had two sons and I love how these photos give you a little glimpse into her motherhood world and seeing how natural she is with her boys makes me love her even more! They inspire me to get more candid in the moment shots with me and my own children. Do you have a favorite one? My favorite one I absolutely love is Audrey and her son sharing the donut!

As we all know it is the trend to put up pop art pictures of Audrey in her iconic photos for which she is famous for! Like the Breakfast at Tiffany’s window picture or the one of her riding a bike, that my daughter Alliya happens to have hanging in her room. I feel like I would rather have these “Audrey being a mother” pictures on display in my home because they inspire me to take time to be a mother, they show me you can have both a successful career and still have motherhood and you can also look good and have your own style doing it! How adorable would a few of these look in a nursery in black and white in frames on a gallery wall! So much better then her just wearing a large hat!

Thank you everyone for reading my blog! Love ya, Spring is finally here! XO

Project Dollhouse

For the past few weeks Alliya and I have been working away on this giant dollhouse that my mother found for her! As you can see it needs a lot of work and paint. We have been having the best time planning and styling this dollhouse for her. I have stood back a bit and let her choose the colors of the walls, wallpaper and the flooring even the furniture. I don’t think I have seen a doll house look so trendy. So this is the ugly “Before”, when it is finished I will love to give you a little tour of Alliya’s dollhouse. Currently it is all painted white on the inside and out. I am right now on the hunt for a chesterfield dollhouse sofa. Yes, there are places that sell that kind of thing!

It really needed a bit of love, I have never been intimidated by a little paint… here’s the ugly of it!

Here are some furniture that we are thinking about:
(all found on Ebay)

I wish I had something like this when I was her age! Did you!? (I will say after looking at the pictures I was surprised as well to see that I put that thing on my counter, don’t judge!)

* So I have been so busy getting things together and ready for our “Big Secret Announcement!” I am really excited to share it and get it out there. Hint: it has something to do with my boutique that I owned called “Trendy Tots Couture” here in Utah plus a few other New things!!

Feeling Christmasy… Our Morning

I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas Day with their families yesterday! I loved this year’s Christmas! The funny thing is we didn’t do anything out of the norm, just spending time with both sides of the family with all of our favorite siblings and cousins. This year we went to my parents for Christmas Eve Dinner and Christmas Day at Ben’s families home. But as you know the little party planner in me had to host something Christmas-y too. The past few years we have had Christmas Breakfast and invite all the grandparents to come in the morning. This is just a simple breakfast that we had yesterday morning. Our little round table can only fit so many, so little Owen sat at his own small table decorated just for him. I cut fresh evergreen branches from my garden and picked up some flowers at the local florist. (Just had to be done!)

Since my mother and Ben’s parents are from England we always have a tradition to have English Crackers. They are little packages that have a little toy, joke and a paper crown in them. Our family always has a friendly contest to see who can keep their crowns on the longest. (I may of won on Christmas Eve) My mother has always been good at this game. She has even been known to go to bed still wearing it!

This time for the children’s plates I silver painted little animals, so they could have a fun surprise at their seats.

Little Owen had his own baby table and a silver lamb!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas Day, I love the holidays they really are the best time of the year! I wish we could have Christmas more often! Sorry for my obscene lately, I had my sinus surgery 2 weeks ago and I took some easy time for myself. But now I feel a little behind so I have loads of great things to share this week! thanks for reading everyone!

Adorable headboard find… and a bedding sale!

I have been thinking about redoing my children’s rooms…again! Alliya is growing up so fast and she needs more space for a study area. The bed she has now I love very much, but it’s really big and chunky so something more simple and petite would probably work better.

I wish I could take the credit for finding these Tufted upholstered headboards from Target but I didn’t, my lovely friend Stephanie who I have known forever told me about them. I love all the colors and the softness they can add to a room. You can’t go wrong with the price either. You can’t even get them custom made for this price! The only problem I’m having is what color to order! Which one do you love?!

Juliette Tufted Headboard HERE

It even comes in a full bed version!

Juliette Tufted Bed Here

Look at this one I found $50+ for a headboard! Which to me is basically free, sort of! Really cute for a little toddler or a sister’s room!
Special Deal Pink Dot Twin Headboard $56.24 Here

Now for the bedding… I have been eyeing up some bedding from Serena and Lily, which is one of my favorite brands. I have been really impressed with the quality of their bedding. They have a nice big sale going on right now until 12/18!

Next week I will show you what I’m thinking for my boys room! Since Owen is getting bigger I think its time for bunk beds and a little better toy control! I’m excited to show you what I’m thinking.

(personal note: I finally had my sinus surgery yesterday and I’m doing really well recovering, its a little painful and lots of dizziness. But that’s alright I will just take it easy this weekend and lay around the house a bit and I should be back to normal before I know it.)

Thank You everyone for reading…
