Alliya’s Moroccan Birthday Party Part II

Yesterday I chatted about Alliya’s Moroccan Birthday Party and promised some pictures of the “After Party” when everything was all lite up! Alliya brought out all of her Pettiskirts and handed them around. They went to the near by park to play games. I can’t remember exactly what game they played but all I know is my name was “the mother queen.” When we walked home it was just starting to get darker and the glow of the party tent from the hanging lighting and candles was so magical and all the girls ran to it so excited. That was probably my favorite moment of the whole day as I followed slowly behind them, just seeing how all the girls were so happy and felt special having such a party just for them.

Since it was late, the silliness of all the girls was defiantly coming out!

Then little Owen had to copy everything they were doing!

Alliya really got spoiled with lip glosses that day, I think she must have gotten 20 new ones!
So every time I looked at her she was trying a new lip gloss color!  You can tell in some of the
pictures she has  bright neon orange or pink lips! “It’s my party, I can put lip gloss on if I want to”
Is what I would sing to her!

Alliya’s Moroccan Birthday Party Part I

When Alliya was born nine years ago I remember my mother telling me “to make the most of her because she could be my only daughter” I had no clue back then that those words will come true. Why do mother’s always know everything? So maybe I did go a little over the top this year, but oh well after-all she is my only daughter…

Alliya and I talked about doing a Moroccan Garden party months ago, you know when the day just seems so far away but yet comes around rather quickly.
She wanted to invite all her favorite friends and have a Moroccan style tent with carpets and floor pillows. We arranged white peonies and garden cabbage roses in vases along the long floor banquet table.

I used fabric and bright colors with exotic patterns that reflected the vibrant style. Alliya choose to have everyone bead necklaces. We used beads that we previously made out of paper in every color possible and of course a tray full of gold ones.  We had a mini gourmet kid friendly lunch including hummus, which only a few girls dared to try.  We played games like musical pillows, had birthday cake and stayed and danced a while. It really was Alliya’s favorite Birthday so far but having all of her favorite friends there with her is what made it so.  -Kaylee xo

Sweet Vintage Garden Wedding

Isn’t the Spring the most perfect time of the year to get married? Shelby and Jordan thought so, they wanted a classic vintage garden wedding with light blues, lavenders and pinks. The reception location was in a gorgeous backyard that had hundreds of flowers and tulips all in bloom. There was a fountain that ran from the top of the garden all the way down to the bottom that ended into a rock waterfall. We placed fresh moss along the rock beds which gave the rocks a fresh look. My favorite new thing is the hanging fresh wreath chandeliers. We had them hanging over the entrance and the buffet. I also wanted to bring in light flowy curtain panels for the pergola where the buffet was served and the wedding cake on display. There was a slight breeze that created movement with the panels.

We choose to go with neutral ivory linens and table cloths with lace runners because it offers a soft balance with the pastels of the flowers. The flowers are my “love” when it comes to weddings. Luckily this time of year there are blossom trees all around us so we used many different blossom branches to add height to our arrangements. Of course my on-site florist Miriam came through again and arranged some beautiful vases.
I absolutly loved working and styling this wedding for the couple. I have always had a thing for Secret Garden weddings. xo

Tip: When you use these drink spouts they seem to always drip! I like to place a tray or small plate underheath with some moss and the problem is fixed.

Weddings are all about the details… my favorite detail from this wedding is this feather pen. The ivory plume is from the bride’s parents wedding day years ago which was saved and made a cameo a second time.

P.S.
Behind the scene photo: I’m so sad that I only took ONE behind the scence photo of my assisant Miriam and I doing the flowers I guess it’s really easy to get busy when you do something like this! At least it’s a cute one of her. I’m so happy that I got chance to run around for five minutes and take the photos above!

Audrey Hepburn as a Mother…

A long time ago I was searching for the usual iconic Audrey Hepburn pictures. When I came across these precious ones. We all know Audrey from her signature sense of style and iconic career, but did many of you know she was a mother as well.

Audrey had two sons and I love how these photos give you a little glimpse into her motherhood world and seeing how natural she is with her boys makes me love her even more! They inspire me to get more candid in the moment shots with me and my own children. Do you have a favorite one? My favorite one I absolutely love is Audrey and her son sharing the donut!

As we all know it is the trend to put up pop art pictures of Audrey in her iconic photos for which she is famous for! Like the Breakfast at Tiffany’s window picture or the one of her riding a bike, that my daughter Alliya happens to have hanging in her room. I feel like I would rather have these “Audrey being a mother” pictures on display in my home because they inspire me to take time to be a mother, they show me you can have both a successful career and still have motherhood and you can also look good and have your own style doing it! How adorable would a few of these look in a nursery in black and white in frames on a gallery wall! So much better then her just wearing a large hat!

Thank you everyone for reading my blog! Love ya, Spring is finally here! XO

Mr. & Mrs. Fox’s Wedding Reception

Pinks, creams, vintage lace table cloths, ruffles, a crystal chandelier and a bit of gold glitter is how I would describe this wedding. The beautiful bride Courtney dreamed of her wedding being vintage and romantic. We did this by bringing in dozens and dozens of garden flowers of all different colors and types. We had the table cloths with soft ivory lace overlays with a moss filled vintage gold tray and round glass vases with gold glitter. I feel every wedding color scheme comes to life when you add a metallic. We also did monogrammed letters out of babies breath and real greenery garlands and swags.

We brightened up this gorgeous chandelier by adding real greenery swags to the tiers. Then hanging soft poufs that Courtney did out of tulle in different sizes and shades of ivories and creams on an invisible fishing line. Which created a soft and airy canopy effect over the dance floor.

One of my favorite details from the wedding is this fox cake topper. I believe Courtney found it on Etsy HERE! I just love the personality it added to the cake! We layered the cake table with loads of neutral textures and made the Ombre ruffles the focus they deserved.

A little bit behind the scenes:  The florist Mirium who is the head florist at the amazing Flower Basket Boutique in Provo, Utah. I always like to bring her in to help me do the weddings flowers because she always brings her amazing floral skills. She always is innovative with her floral designs and always has something up her sleeve to try to keep it unique and different and so beautiful. Plus she has a really fun personality which we always have the best time doing these weddings working together. I had so many great people setting up and working hard, I absolutely loved having my two favorite friends there Jenn and Meghan. Jenn and I got stuck in an elevator that night (story for another time) and Meghan was so kind to take these amazing pictures for me because she is just so cool like that!

Well at least we all know I can help tie the bows on the vases!

It was a really amazing wedding to be a part of and I loved getting to know the bride and her mother. They were so easy to work with, oh and did I mention we pulled all this together in about one week! Plus the reception center only gave us 2 hours to set up… so I know just from the stress of that would shake some people but not this bride and her mother they stayed so calm and positive through the whole thing, “what a team.”
