Wallpaper 101: Grasscloth Wallcoverings

Lets chat about wallpaper for a bit. When people think about wallpaper, pattern, color and large graphics come to mind. Wallpaper now a days has changed so much. It is so easy to hang and to take down. No more wallpaper glue and hanging tools. It is just a simple wet with water and stick in place. I believe every home should have a room with some wallpaper or a wall covering. It breaks up the trend of every room just being painted.

I wanted to show you some interiors that have Grass Cloth also known as Sea Grass wallpaper. Grass Cloth is a wallcovering that is one of my favorites. I really like the texture and natural element it can bring to a room. Which many rooms are screaming for. It is an easy thing to add in a more traditional home. But yet it can still work in a more soft modern home.

I really like the color choices that it comes in. Which leaves room for so many options.

In this 1920′s Singer Sheryl Crow’s home, I love the bright white walls. I think it would look so amazing if it was done with White Grass Cloth wallpaper. I know Sheryl was probably wanting to emphasize the natural clay texture. The whole room would be warmed up a little if that arch wall was with white Grass Cloth. I imagine you can paint grass cloth wallpaper with a texture brush, I’m curious to see if it has been done before.
